Zanesville Synagogue Deconsecrated

Sunday’s deconsecration of Zanesville’s Beth Abraham Synagogue was emotional, with fifty attendees at the tear-filled closing ceremony.  A final procession with the Torahs was held, a Yahrzeit/Memorial list was read, the Mezuzot were removed, the Eternal light was extinguished, and Kaddish was recited.  The Columbus Jewish Foundation has been entrusted to manage the now-closed synagogue’s endowments, including the cemetery maintenance fund.
