Youth Philanthropy Development
New recruits to the B’nai Tzedek program were oriented on how to use their funds in early June…but the big youth philanthropy event was a special program during the second week of June at the Foundation at which 53 teens and family members thanked Mitzi Saeman for her family’s matching gifts to open their B’nai Tzedek philanthropic funds — followed by Ben Kassoy’s amazing workshop in which teens discussed how they have become involved with meaningful causes by using their B’nai Tzedek funds and with hands-on participation.
Kassoy is a Bexley resident who is the Content Editor of DoSomething.org, a 2.5 million member teen organization for social change. He discussed how taking small efforts to tackle huge problems can be effective on the world stage. His workshop included a quiz to find a social action cause, and simple ways to start addressing teen runaway support service issues, breast cancer awareness, and conservation.
Attending the June 9th B’nai Tzedek program were: Dani Lane, Harry Bernzweig, Mollie Pavlovsky, Kyra Freeman, Tal Mars, Toby Mars*, Abby Hirsch, Maya Rothchild, Aaron Rothchild, Ben Kassoy*, Emily Munster, Sari Applefeld, Hannah Dolen, Jacob Appelbaum, Noah Appelbaum*, Harry Keller, Max Meyer, Mitzi Saeman*, Eli Weinstock, Maya Cohen, Miriam Kleit, Gadi Bandler, Stella Fried, Olivia Weinstock, Julia Cohn*, Ariel Brodey, Julia Applefeld, Chloe Seletz & Not pictured: Ben Levey*, Sam Dolen*, and Caroline Klodell.
