Welcome to summer intern Alex Poellnitz
Alex, who will be assisting us with various communication activities, is a Junior at Bowling Green State University, where she studies Visual Communication and Technology. A lifelong Columbus resident, she has a personal interest in Black-Jewish relations.
Her grandfather, Nathan Poellnitz, Sr., was killed in 1958 for participating in non-violent civil rights protests in his hometown of Bessemer, Alabama. Her father, Nathan Poellnitz, Jr., although only 14 years old at the time of the killing, continued his father’s work by staging sit-ins and marching in Selma and Washington, D.C. Alex honors her roots and family legacy by encouraging younger generations to vote.
