Safer Seniors, Thanks to Foundation Grant
Each year, millions of adults aged 65 and older fall, causing moderate to severe injuries ranging from hip fractures to head traumas. Fortunately, falls are largely preventable. A $65,000 Columbus Jewish Foundation grant this Fall paved the way for comprehensive wellness clinics and programming for seniors at Heritage Tower and Bexley Heritage Apartments. The program’s impact has been swift: results are already showing an overall reduction in the number of falls and fall-related admissions to Wexner Heritage House. Program partners with Wexner Heritage Village include the JCC, the Visiting Nurse Association, and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
