Mitzi & Henry Saeman & the Columbus Jewish Foundation worked to design the B'nai Tzedek Program in order to accomplish the following:
Provide a means for Jewish teenagers to become accustomed to giving both time and money for charitable purposes.
Provide an avenue for Jewish teenagers to have continuous contact with the non-profit sector.
Provide an opportunity for Jewish teenagers to socialize with other like minded teens.
Create a framework for teaching moral values and social consciousness, and for developing the life long practice of charitable giving.
Encourage Jewish teens to volunteer their services to local service agencies.
Encourage parents and teens to contribute additional monies in addition to the initial start-up monies to the fund (now and in the future).
An elegant contribution card will be available for anyone wishing to contribute to an individual fund to commemorate a special occasion.
The Columbus Jewish Foundation administers the program. Funds are professionally invested and managed with all the other Columbus Jewish Foundation philanthropic funds.
