Memorial Fund for Stricken Camper Established at Foundation
The Howard Larky and Liza Larky families have established a camp scholarship memorial fund at the Columbus Jewish Foundation in memory of their daughter, Jadyn Erin Larky.
The eleven year-old was a student at Cassingham Elementary School in Bexley. She also attended Hebrew school at Congregation Tifereth Israel, and was known by family, friends, teachers and classmates as bright, curious, and sweet.
Jadyn is survived by her parents, her younger sister Elliot, grandparents Debby and Jerry Yarov and Barbara and Sheldon Larky, great-grandmother Cecile Freedman, and many friends and relatives. According to family members, summers at Camp Livingston, a Jewish overnight camp in Bennington, Indiana, were among the best times of Jadyn’s life.
Commenting on the tragic loss of Jadyn Larky, Columbus Jewish Foundation President Jeff Meyer stated that “Even in their time of deep grief, the Larky family is honoring Jadyn’s memory in a positive way that will enable others to enjoy the fun, spirit and camaraderie of a Jewish camp experience. We join the entire community in offering our condolences to the family. “
