Jewish Groups Reject Immigrant Ban

The Columbus Board of Rabbis and the Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Committee issued statements rejecting calls to ban Muslims from entering the United States.  Nationally, such plans have been rejected by groups from every major American Jewish religious stream.  Many, but not all, also named Donald Trump in their condemnations.  Trump cancelled a previously scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the Israeli leader blasted the American billionaire for his remarks about Muslims. “The State of Israel respects all religions and strictly guarantees the rights of all its citizens,” said Netanyahu. “At the same time, Israel is fighting against militant Islam that targets Muslims, Christians and Jews alike and threatens the entire world.”
