Jewish Groups Mobilize to Help Hurricane Matthew Victims
Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, still struggling to rebuild after a 2010 devastating earthquake and subsequent cholera epidemic, was hit earlier this month by a Category 4 hurricane. The Jewish Federations of North America is coordinating with the Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief to assist Hurricane Matthew victims. The Coalition is managed by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC); its membership includes the Union for Reform Judaism, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, ORT America, Jewish Council for Public Affairs, AJWS, the American Jewish Committee, and many others. For online donations to Hurricane Matthew Relief Work, consider jewishfederations.org or jdc.org.
