In Tribute to Irving Baker
Irving Baker’s son enrolled at Columbus Torah Academy in 1966, when the school was in its very infancy. Classes were then held in the Agudas Achim basement. Said Irving, “The facility was fourth-rate, the education was first-rate, and the experience could not be compared nor duplicated….I immediately recognized the important part that Columbus Torah Academy would play in the future of Columbus and I became involved in all facets of its operations.” A special CTA Irving Baker tribute on Sunday night will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of its high school, which Irving founded. The program will begin at 5:30 PM at the CTA campus, 181 Noe Bixby Road, Columbus.
