Helping Israel’s Children at Risk
It began with a side trip last Fall during a Federation Mission to Israel. Foundation fund holders Andrea and Arnold Alpert visited Negba, a small organization that helps Israeli children from underprivileged homes develop the tools for their educational and vocational paths. After seeing the kids struggling on antiquated computers, some in disrepair, the Alperts made a gift recommendation through their Donor Advised Fund for Negba to purchase new computers. Approximately 14% of all Israeli children have been identified as at risk by the country’s welfare authorities, living below the poverty line, in environments rampant with unemployment, drugs, alcohol, violence and prostitution. These children tend to fail in school because they possess learning difficulties and struggle to fit in socially. Click to view a very heartfelt thank you.
