Gundersheimers Fashion New Funds
The Gundersheimer family’s Columbus roots trace back to 1840. A businessman and retailer, Allen Gundersheimer, Jr., noted in a Columbus Jewish Historical Society interview that he was born in Columbus — like his grandparents; great grandparents; great, great grandparents; and, his great, great great grandparents. His and his wife Muriel’s memories will be kept alive with bequests that they fashioned for the benefit of the Foundation, Jewish Family Services, and Temple Israel.
The Fashion, circa 1911: Allen Gundersheimer’s father and a business partner opened “The Fashion” at the corner of State and South High. His father was one of the Foundation’s founding Board members.
