Foundation Sponsors Holocaust Education for 4,000 Students

Thousands of local middle school students and their teachers will learn about the Kindertransport when My Heart in a Suitcase will be shown in eight schools next month (Arts Impact, Ridgeview, Champion, Mifflin, Girls Prep, Boys Prep, Yorktown, and Woodward Park).  The play, sponsored in part by the Columbus Jewish Foundation, portrays the story of a 12-year old Jewish girl living in Berlin, Germany in 1938. Her parents have decided to put her on the Kindertransport in order to save her from the impending Holocaust. A Kindertansport survivor accompanies every performance.  The shows are produced by the acclaimed ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, which has performed before more than 400,000 young people in regional theatres, cultural centers, and schools in 39 states.
