Finding Lost Insurance Policies

The Ohio Department of Insurance provides free searches to help find missing insurance policies and annuity contracts for executors, legal representatives, or members a decedent’s immediate family.   The department will send search requests to all Ohio-licensed life insurance companies. More than 1,200 missing insurance policies have been found since 2009.  Executors, legal representatives, or members of a decedent’s immediate family can initiate requests by calling 1-800-686-1526 or Consumer Affairs at www.insurance.ohio.gov.
