Dutch Jew to speak at Mayor’s Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony

Evelyn Markus, whose family roots in the Netherlands go back more than 400 years, will be the keynote speaker at the Mayor’s May 6 Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony.  A child of Holocaust Survivors, she will speak of her family’s wartime experiences and the rising tide of anti-Semitism that led to her decision to leave Europe.
