Celebrating Collaboration and Respect

Jim Bowman and Audrey Tuckerman convened Foundation and Federation staff at Tracey and Jim Bowman’s home May 3 to voice thanks for their goodwill and resiliency during the agencies’ reorganization.  Bowman and Tuckerman are upbeat on their progress in recruiting a new CEO.  Although not by design, last night’s mixer fell on the minor Jewish holiday of Lag B’Omer.  Wexner Foundation Senior Philanthropic Advisor Larry Moses drew a cautionary lesson from the coincidence, noting that disrespect led to grave consequences during the days of the much-beloved Rabbi Hillel, one of the most important figures in Jewish history.  Hence, the theme that Moses grabbed onto: Lag B’Omer celebrates and  elevates consideration of one another, and cautions against what happens when we don’t.
