Broadening Holocaust Education for Teens
In an effort to escape the Nazis after many of his family members were killed, young teenager Irv Miller lived on the run for several years, occasionally befriended by farmers and others. He miraculously survived, finding his way to Columbus, where he lived happily until an untimely death in April 2000. Friends established a memorial fund bearing his name for the March of the Living Holocaust educational program for teens commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day. It is one of several Foundation funds earmarked for this purpose. Plans are currently underway to augment March of the Living support with matching dollars from a bequest left to the Foundation by the late Aurelia and Ernie Stern.
