Bozo Makes Straight-faced Exit

Funsters across the country mourned the loss of Bozo the Clown, a/k/a Frank Avruch, who died last week in Boston at age 89.  (There is no truth to the rumor that the Rabbi paid tribute to Bozo by throwing a cream pie at his widow.) Columbus’ most famous clown was Flippo, also known as Bob Marvin.  Tales of Marvin’s antics on and off the set were legion, typically involving pranks and slapstick stunts with an adult twist. In a rare act of solemnity, Marvin (1927-2006) included the Columbus Jewish Foundation in his Will.  (Click for TV tribute.)
