614 Challah Bake to Rise Again

After successfully hosting three annual 614 Shabbat weekends — with a bunch of Challah Bakes held all around town — a big change is being made to the recipe.  When October 25 rolls in this year, Sabbath bakers and makers will convene in the Columbus Torah Academy gymnasium for their very first community-wide Challah Bake.  Similar Challah Bake events will be held across the globe on the same evening.  Organizers Jerry and Laura Moskow Sigal note that Cleveland challah bakers last year numbered over 1,400.  They hope that Columbus will rise to the occasion with at least 500 bakers.  The Foundation, which provided dough in years past for 614 Shabbat, wishes the bread winners well.
